If you know me or of me, you will know I like beer. Over the last few years I have been collecting photos of every new beer I have.
I now have over 2,000 individual beers photographed and have realised that many beers that I assumed I have photos of, I haven't.

This blog will be therefore be an account of my quest for new beers to photo and how I enjoyed them (or not).

Askrigg Ale

The second new beer of Saturday, was yet another local one bought in Leyburn.
Yorkshire Dales, Askrigg Ale from England.
4.3% amber colour with a good head, strong citrus hop aroma, very sharp grapefruit hop taste, my first beer from this brewery and I am looking froward to the next.

Wensleydale Stout

First new beer on Saturday night was a stout, we had it with tapas and it went very well indeed. It was yet another Wensleydale beer and again bought in Leyburn.
Wensleydale, Black Dub from England.
4.4% black in colour with a thin head, the aroma is toffee and chocolate, taste is grain and slightly sweet chocolate, as I said it went well with the food. I am not a lover of stout but this was nice and it was the best of the Wensleydale beers I have had to date.

Birthday

Friday was my birthday and very busy.

First thing (9am), at the hospital to have a heart monitor fitted for the weekend. The hospital informed me that I should not be there until 2pm, so I asked why it said 9am on my appointment letter, they could not answer that. They fitted it anyway and did the scan that I was supposed to have on Monday, so that was a result.

Next we were to visit my mother and then go for lunch at Portofino, that was until I was informed that the night before there had been a fire in Portofino's kitchens and it was closed until further notice. So after seeing my Mam, we went to the Pot House (The Harbor of Refuge) for cod and chips and a pint of Strongarm, with Mick and Brenda. Then we all went to The Fisherman's Arms for another couple of hand pulled beers. After that we visited Dot parents before heading off for our usual Friday night out.

Back home we had cheese and crackers for supper.
