Swedish Blonde

Another one from our last trip away in the van, this one was in the Market Tavern, Durham city.

4.2% gold colour with a thin head, citrus hop aroma and dry citrus hop taste, quite good but I wasn't concentrating, I was watching England beating Scotland at the rugby.

Old Man Ale

The second new beer of the night wasn't much better,
Coniston, Old Man Ale from England
4.8% dark amber colour with a thin head, sweet slightly soapy aroma, bitter hop taste lacking body.

Tapping The Admiral

Last night we only had two new beers, both suppled by Jonathan, I am letting the side down this week. We had bangers and burgers, sort of an indoor barbie, very nice it was. We did have plenty of other beers, so don't worry about us but only the two new ones.

The first new beer was
Shepherd Neame, Tapping The Admiral from England
4.0% light gold colour with a thin head, malt aroma, slightly woody, fizzy, watery taste, a bit of a disappointment.

Big Red

The second beer with lunch in Wetherspoons, Water House, was also a new one. My brother Mick wanted to taste it first before we bought it but I said that was the cowards way, wish I had tasted it first.

4.0% dark red colour with a thin head, fruity aroma, bitter fruit taste, not as good as it sounds.

Silly Billy

The First new beer in Durham was bought in Wetherspoons, Water House, with lunch.

4.3% gold colour with a good head, citrus aroma and dry citrus taste, good pint of beer.

Dark Side

Last beer for this visit to York, was in the Swan.
Salamander, Dark Side from England
4.8% black colour with a good head, roast malt aroma and taste. Salamander make that many different beers I think they must just give every new brew a new name.
