Big Red

The second beer with lunch in Wetherspoons, Water House, was also a new one. My brother Mick wanted to taste it first before we bought it but I said that was the cowards way, wish I had tasted it first.

4.0% dark red colour with a thin head, fruity aroma, bitter fruit taste, not as good as it sounds.

Silly Billy

The First new beer in Durham was bought in Wetherspoons, Water House, with lunch.

4.3% gold colour with a good head, citrus aroma and dry citrus taste, good pint of beer.

Dark Side

Last beer for this visit to York, was in the Swan.
Salamander, Dark Side from England
4.8% black colour with a good head, roast malt aroma and taste. Salamander make that many different beers I think they must just give every new brew a new name.

Freddie Trueman

The second beer in the Slip Inn York was
Copper Dragon, Freddie Trueman from England
4.0% gold colour with a thin head, malt aroma, fruity malt taste.

Sandstone

Back to the beers we had on our recent trip to York, this one was in the Slip Inn.
Wainstones, Sandstone from England
4.0% light amber with a good head, malt and hop aroma, nice bitter taste.

Friday In Again

Well this is becoming a habit, I am not going out again tonight, Dot is going for a meal with the girls and I am driving.  Hopefully there will be some new beers tomorrow but I still have plenty to to catch up on.

Two Strong Lagers

This week I have tried two different Strong Lagers and while both do the job, I do not think I would buy either of them again.
Carlsberg UK, Skol Super from England
9.0% gold colour with no head, malty alcohol aroma, strong alcohol taste you can feel the heat all the way down like whisky but fizzy.



And Thorougoods, Imported Strong Lager from, somewhere in the EU

Brewed for Bargain Booze Ltd, it is 7.9% gold colour with a poor head, sweet sugary aroma, sweet alcohol taste, too sweet.
