Well we are through to the last part on February and I have only been out once this month (I do mean drinking), it must be the time of year. I have however had quite a few canned beers so I will cover them here.
Young Ralph is up visiting along with Amber though, it is half term, so I have been drinking at home with them. What I have mainly been having is Speckled Hen, an old favorite but also these other cans.
The other big thing is, I got an MOT for the motorhome and it passed first time, it is getting old now about 18 years old. We are off away for a week from the first of March, we are only going to York but that is where I want to be for my birthday. The week after we are off to the Lakes for Dot's birthday but we are going to a log cabin for that week.
So let's get on with the beers.
Modern Times, Orderville IPA from USA
7.2% cloudy gold in colour with a poor head, fruity hoppy aroma and a bitter hop taste.
Modern Times, Fortunate Island Pale Ale from USA
5.0% cloudy deep gold in colour with a good head, hoppy aroma and a bitter hop taste.
Boundary, Biere de Table avec Zeste from Northern Ireland
4.0% hazy amber in colour with a small head, a zesty aroma and a taste of lemon shandy, very poor.
Drygate, Disco Forklift Truck from Scotland
5.1% cold in colour with a poor head, tropical fruit aroma and a fruity taste.
Williams Brothers, Haçienda Pale Ale from Scotland
4.8% gold in colour with a nice head, some citrus in the aroma, the taste is fruity.
If you know me or of me, you will know I like beer. Over the last few years I have been collecting photos of every new beer I have.
I now have over 2,000 individual beers photographed and have realised that many beers that I assumed I have photos of, I haven't.

This blog will be therefore be an account of my quest for new beers to photo and how I enjoyed them (or not).

Greene King, IPA's
Greene King, the brewer from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, seems to me to make quite a few India Pale Ale's and most are very good. So I will have a look at the Greene King IPA beers that I have tried. I will do them in order of strength with the weakest first.
Greene King, IPA
3.6% amber in colour with a thin head, hop aroma, a nice light hop taste and very easy to drink.
Greene King, East Coast IPA
4.0% gold colour with a thin head, it was very much like one of the Badgers beers.
Greene King, IPA Gold
4.1% gold in colour with a thin head, citrus hop aroma, smooth and mild citrus hop taste.
Greene King, IPA Export
5.0% amber in colour but darker than your usual IPA, light hop aroma and it had a hint of toffee in the taste, nice.
Greene King, IPA Reserve
5.4% deep amber in colour with a thin head, bit of a hoppy aroma and a nice bitter hop taste.
Greene King, Double Hop Monster IPA
7.2 deep gold in colour with a good head, sweet hoppy aroma, it as quite a hoppy taste but not too bad,
Greene King, Very Special India Pale Ale
7.5% amber in colour with a thin head, hoppy aroma, strong hop and alcohol taste but not too bad.
There is also this one from Tesco that I have had.
Metropolitan Brewing Co (Greene King for Tesco.), Big Bad Wolf IPA
6,0% deep gold in colour with a nice head, citrus hop aroma, dry with some caramel and hops.

Third week in 2017
Here are the beers I had over the third week in 2017 not all new but one that I haven't had since 2008 and its in a new bottle. The other two have names that have been used before, although they are new beers. So I will do something new and show the other, original beers as well
Marston's, Old Empire IPA from England
5.7%, pale amber colour with a nice head, fruit aroma, taste is fruity, hoppy and bitter, not too bad. The old photos from 2008 are here.
Shepherd Neame, Spitfire Gold from England
4.3% deep gold in colour with a poor head, hop aroma but the taste was ok as the hops were not that bad. The original one is below.
Shepherd Neame, Spitfire from England

Brains, The Rev James Rye from Wales

Brains, The Rev James from Wales

A couple of American IPA's
Over the last couple of weeks I have had a couple of IPA's from the USA, I think that I will give IPA a miss for a few weeks. By the way, it was not because these beers were from the USA, I am just sick of too much hops.
Anchor Brewing, Anchor IPA from the USA
6.5% gold colour with a thin head, a strong beer but with slightly too much hop, shame that.
Shipyard Brewing Company, American IPA from the USA
5.0% gold colour with a thin head, hop aroma and taste, time for a rest I think.
