Devon Trip, The last few

Well here are the last few of the beers I bought in Devon, I think that is around twenty two in total but I could be wrong.

Summerskills, Devon Dew from England

 

4.7% light amber in colour with a good head, nice aroma and a nice mild bitter taste, it was very nice.

4.4% light amber in colour with a good head, nice aroma, it had a light amber taste.

4.2% gold in colour with a thin head, malt aroma and a bitter taste.

3.8% amber in colour with a thin head, it had a nice amber aroma and taste

Devon Trip, Day Seven

Moving on to day seven I had a few this day.

Teignworthy, Beachcomber from England

 

4.5% gold in colour with a poor head, low in aroma with a nice but fizzy taste.

4.6% amber in colour with a thin head, bit of a sweet aroma and a good taste

South Hams, Stumble Bee from England

4.2% hazy amber in colour with a good head, malty aroma with a hint of honey, malty citrus taste.

4.3% dark amber in colour with a thin head, fruity malt aroma, nice bitter taste.

Devon Trip, Day Four / Five / Six

The amount of new beers was drying up slightly, I was however drinking repeats.

South Hams Brewery, Eddystone from England

 

4.8% gold in colour with a thin head, not much aroma, not much taste but not bad to drink.

Salcombe, Lifesaver from England

 

4.8% amber in colour with a thin head, sweet aroma and a bitter sweet taste.

I also had a glass of Bud in the resteraunt

Sigillum Civium De Bubiwoyz or Budweiser, Budvar Lager from the Czech Republic

5.0% gold in colour with a thin head, sweet malt aroma, sweet malt taste, slightly over carbonated, but not bad.

Hunter's, Pheasant Plucker from England

 

4.3% deep amber in colour with a nice head, not much aroma but a nice taste.

This is an older photo from our last visit I think but I had one on this day.

Otter, Otter Ale from England

4.5% deep amber colour with a thin head, rich malt aroma, bitter caramel taste.

Devon Trip, Day Three

Day three of our trip to Devon, these are only the new beers I had that day, not that that isn't enough.

South Hams Brewery, Devon Pride from England

 

3.8% amber in colour with a nice head, a caramel aroma and a caramel taste.

South Hams Brewery, Wild Blonde from England

 

4.4% gold in colour with a good head, sweet fruity aroma, fruity low hop taste very nice.

Bays, Topsail from England

4.0% gold in colour with a nice head, it had a reasonable aroma and taste bur nothing special

Devon Trip, Day Two

On the second day of our holiday, we were really in Devon, and I had a couple more beers than the day before. Although they were mainly bottled beers from the local shop but we did have one in the pub there.

Otter, Start Bay Bitter from England

3.6% amber in colour with a thin head, not much aroma, nice bitter taste.

Hunter's, Devon Dreamer from England

 

4.1% amber in colour with a good head, not much aroma but it had a different taste.

4.0% amber in colour with a good head, sweet aroma and a nice mild taste.

4.8% amber in colour with a good head, sweet aroma and a nice bitter taste.

Devon Trip, First Day

Our resent trip to Devon will have to be split into several blogs, so the first one, it will have to be what I drank on the way down. We stayed the first night in Tewkesbury on the way down and had a couple in Spoons but as it was raining and we were tired there was only the two.

Great Western, Old Higby from England

4.8% deep amber in colour with a nice head, not much aroma but some hops, nice bitter taste.

Battledown, 4 Kings from England

7.2% gold in colour with a thin head, fruity aroma and a sweet alcohol taste.

Another Local Small Pub

Just back from nearly a fortnight down south in Devon, with stop offs in Tewkesbury and Stratford-upon-Avon but that must have covered at least a dozen new beers. So that will follow when I get them sorted, for now I will continue with my visits to the new micro bubs in Billingham.

It was late on Sunday afternoon and we had had nothing to eat since breakfast (we had been visiting family) but we still made for one of the new pubs the The Porky Pint. When we got in there they were serving food, small snacks (or not so small), Hot Pork, Turkey and Beef buns, also pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. We had slow cooked beef with roast potatoes and gravy and we got plenty, excellent. Now for the beers.

Purple Moose, Dark Side Of The Moose / Ochr Dywyll Y Mws from Wales

4.6% dark brown with a thin head, roast malt aroma, slightly bitter roast malt taste, had this one before.

Timothy Taylor's, Ram Tam from England

4.3% black in colour with a good head, it had a nice aroma and a smooth bitter taste.

Roundhill Brewery, BPA (Billingham Pale Ale) from England

5.2% gold in colour with a nice head, hoppy aroma and taste, not the best of theirs.
